Mrs Charlotte Holdstock

Science Technician

Mrs Holdstock grew up on the island after moving here from london when she was three years old. She spent time travelling and working in America and Nottingham, before setteling back on the island.
Mrs Holdstock worked in the NHS in the pathology department at St Marys from 2015 until joining The Island Free School in 2026.
Her spare time is spent with her two daughters and husband. She enjoys hiking and Geocaching as well as cooking and baking. Her secret skills include sailing, target shooting and creating art with bacteria on agar plates.

Experience

After one year of working in blood sciences, Mrs Holdstock moved to the Microbiology Lab and worked her way up to associate practitioner. She spent 10 years there helping to identify and test all sorts of infections and diseases. In that time she also completed an advanced apprenticeship in pathology support, parts one and two of her IBMS certificate of achievement, and worked at the hospital though the Covid pandemic .

My Goals

I want to continue training and learning within the education sector, and use my experience to inspire more people into science.
