Miss Alice Carter

Teacher of Science

Miss Carter has recently moved to the Island from Winchester to enjoy the beaches and countryside walks. Prior to teaching at TIFS, Miss Carter worked in a secondary school teaching Science on the mainland as well as teaching Maths at the Isle of Wight College.

In her spare time she loves jogging on the esplanade, pilates, birdwatching and oil painting.

Experience

Miss Carter completed her BSC in Equine Science at Sparsholt College achieving a 1:1 before going on to complete her MSC in Equestrian Behaviour, Performance and Management using the horse riding simulator to study muscle activation in cross country riders at Hartpury College. She won the Eclipse trophy and NAF award for best dissertation and performance on the course.

My Goals

I hope to continue to promote women and girls in STEM subjects and careers, inspiring an interest in Science and a love of learning for everyone. I look forward to joining the school community and enjoying island life.
