We have had the usual busy start to the new academic year, which has seen us welcome pupils – both exisiting and new.

Our year 7 pupils have settled in and had a really positive start to their time at our school. With this in mind, we celebrate their first school event – the Year 7 Hike.

Our Year 7 pupils had a fantastic day taking part in our annual hike as part of their Pre-Duke of Edinburgh’s Expedition Badge.

Working in groups with their mentors alongside them, pupils took responsibility for leading their own route around the Island, using their map reading and navigation skills to guide their teams along the way. The day also gave them the opportunity to develop key DofE expedition skills including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, resilience, leadership and independence.

It was brilliant to see pupils working together, supporting each other and taking on the challenges of the route with such a positive attitude. They showed great determination and independence throughout the day and should be very proud of what they achieved.
