Apply online for a Year 7 place
The application window for Year 7 places starting in September 2027 is now open. The deadline for applications is Midnight on Saturday 31st October 2026. Please note that applications received after this date are counted as late and considered after all others.
You will receive an email confirmation of your application – please keep this safe. If you do not receive an email within an hour, please check your spam filter and then contact us.
Important
You must also fill in a common application form from the Isle of Wight Council; details of how to complete their application should have been sent to you directly. The Local Authority School Admissions contact details can be found here. We will not be able to offer anyone a place who has not completed this additional form.
Please also apply to at least one more secondary school, in case your application to The Island Free School is unsuccessful. This also applies to applications for siblings of pupils already attending the school.

If you are looking for a place in our current year groups for your child, you can make an in-year application at any time using the application forms displayed below. Please ensure when making your application that you apply for the year group your child is currently in. We encourage parents and their children to visit the school in order to make an informed decision.
