Monday 27th February saw the first of our post 16 trips for Year 8 pupils this year. This is a valuable aspect of our pathways programme and allows pupils to explore the options available to them, following their GCSEs.

Caesitas spent the morning at the Isle of Wight college having a tour of the campus before a scavenger hunt in their LRC and activities run by their public service pupils.

In the afternoon the group visited Ryde School where they met the head of sixth form and the head boy and girl, where they were able to ask questions about Ryde’s post 16 options. Pupils also participated in a Drama session before being shown around the school by sixth form students. The day finished with hot chocolate and cake and the pupils really appreciated being able to see the difference between academic and vocational options as potential study routes.

With each class visiting a different provider over the coming weeks we look forward to lots more pathways updates.
