On Monday boys and girls teams from the Island Free School competed in the Island Cross country championships held at Christ the King college.

Nearly 200 pupils from all island state and independent secondary schools competed over a 3 kilometre course. We are delighted to report that the boys team came 4th overall and the girls team came 1st. Huge congratulations to all those involved.

Special congratulations must go to Maisie Witty who came in 1st place, Mia Basile who came in 2nd place, Kara Hogg who came in 7th place and Mia Gerty who came 9th place.

Maisie, Mia B and Kara have now been chosen to represent the Isle of Wight in the County finals later this term; Mia G will be the first reserve.
