Our Under 13 Girls played their first hard ball cricket match against Ryde School this week.

TIFS lost the toss and were asked to bat first on a very dry wicket. Despite early nerves the TIFS team scored freely by running quickly between the wickets and also hitting a succession of boundaries. TIFS posted an excellent 106-5.( J.Glover-17/M.Lawrence 15 NO)

In reply the Ryde team batted steadily but the TIFS bowlers restricted them by straight bowling, fielding tightly, and encouraging each other. Ryde could not score quickly enough and finished on a score of 73-1.

It was a wonderful start to hardball cricket and the potential for the next few years is very evident.
