Our first Treasure Chest Challenge of 2023 has been cracked today by Heston in year 7.

He cleverly worked out the English Department’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ word puzzle to decipher the 4 digit padlock code and unlock the chest. His efforts were rewarded with the fantastic prize of a Power Up 4.0 smartphone-controlled Paper Aeroplane Kit. Heston said he is “thrilled to have solved the puzzle and time did fly whilst he worked on the challenge!”.

Treasure Chest Challenge answer: The first task was to complete a word-fit crossword puzzle with the names of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ characters. All but 4 of these names were given in the word bank, the remaining ones had to be researched and fitted into the puzzle accordingly. The highlighted letters from this puzzle then gave an anagram of one more character, Philostrate. Philostrate was also known as Master(6 letters) of(2 letters) the(3 letters) Revels(6 letters), giving the padlock code of: 6236.
