Warren Riches, Chair of Governors for The Island Free School, is pleased to make the following announcement:

Steph Boyd: the newly appointed Principal

“The Members and Directors of The Island Free School are delighted to report that, after an extensive interview process, Mr Steph Boyd has been appointed as Principal to the school.

“We were delighted by both the quantity and quality of applications for this position. Interviews were held at the Royal Hotel, Ventnor, on Friday 27 September. The panel included representatives from The Island Free School group and Ofsted inspector Wiola Hola who is also an advisor to the Secretary of State.

“Steph is a highly experienced teacher and senior leader who has held a wide variety of roles in both the state and private sectors. Steph came to us with outstanding references from members of the community and from his current Head teacher, Peter Shaw.

“We are delighted that Steph has accepted the post and will formally begin work on 1 January 2014. Until this date, Steph will continue to work for the school in a voluntary capacity.”
