What a week we’ve had! Our Year 7 pupils have settled in extremely well and the atmosphere around the school is upbeat and purposeful. Our pupils are showing excellent potential in the core academic subjects. Along with Year 7 students across the country, they have already undertaken a range of tests, so that their levels can be accurately assessed. We are grateful to their primary schools for preparing them so well for the next phase in their education.

In addition, the students have embarked upon an exciting range of activities. We run compulsory extra-curricular enrichment activities at the end of every day, with options including girls’ rugby, chess and music (pictured below). The school’s Radio Club is gearing up to begin broadcasting and we’ll bring you more news on that development soon!

Tomorrow, students will undertake an all day orienteering challenge – they’ll be dropped at a mystery location, with a map, compass and other equipment, and asked to make their way back to the school via secret routes. As you would expect, this will all be carefully supervised and the children can’t wait for their Island adventure!
