On Thursday 15 November Fifteen of our musicians spent a very special day with 3 members of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and 20 fellow musicians from Bitterne Park Comprehensive to compose a piece of music capturing some of the features of the place we live.
The students were stretched and challenged as an orchestra but began to compose a fantastic piece that will be performed, after a further workshop, with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at the Turner Sims concert hall at the end of January.
The children came up with themes of Naval history, waves, seagulls and even seaweed dancing! A creative and impressive day for all.
