In October, 27 young island music pupils applied for a Bursary Award offered generously by the Isle of Wight Cantata Choir. Ten selected pupils were asked to attend an audition, performing two contrasting pieces and then answer questions raised by the panel of three adjudicators from the Choir.

Before the start of the Choir’s Messiah performance at Medina Theatre on Saturday 27th November, the ten successful Candidates were invited to the stage and were each presented with a certificate by the High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight, Mrs Kay Marriott, commemorating their Bursary Awards.

Alfie G and Ava C from year 10 along with Elizabeth W from year 9 who attend The Island Free School, had successful auditions with their Bursary monies going towards music lessons and new instruments.
