Mr Ben Attrill

Sports Coach

Mr Attrill was born on the Isle of Wight and studied at Sandown Bay Academy and Ryde School. In his spare time, he enjoys playing cricket for Ventnor 1st XI and IOW 1st XI as captain. He also coaches cricket for the IOW (U18s) team and the emerging players programme, throughout the year.

Education

After achieving 9 GCSES Mr Attrill then moved onto sixth form at Ryde school with a cricket scholarship. There, he studied Biology, History, Psychology and BTEC level 2 sport, passing all three and achieving the highest mark possible in sport. When he finished at Ryde school, Mr Attrill moved to Perth in Australia to play cricket for 7 months. When the season concluded he spent time travelling the Australian coast before returning to England.

Experience

Having returned to the UK, Mr Attrill had jobs in a few different industries before joining The Island Free School. He still coaches cricket for the IOW (U18s) team and the emerging players programme, throughout the year.

My Goals

To work towards a qualification in teaching and to make a difference in people’s lives – whether that’s education or in sport. I am passionate about helping children become the best version of themselves.
