On Friday 13th of November sixteen of our year 7 and 8 girls travelled to Southampton to compete in the Hampshire U14 girls hockey championships.

Despite being between one and two years younger than all of the other teams our girls performed amazingly earning draws against some of the strongest independent schools in Hampshire inclining Kings of Winchester, Robert Mays school and last years Hampshire championship finalists Ballard school.

For many of the girls this was their first chance to play in a competitive situation and, led with great passion by captain Ruby S, they improved dramatically throughout the day.
Hockey coach Mr Milton has expressed his pride by saying, “ To play 5 games back to back against older girl who have been playing hockey for up to 5 years compared to our 5 weeks is really impressive, I am genuinely excited about the potential in our team”.

Our next match is against Ryde School on Thursday 3rd December when we will play against their u12 and u13 girls teams.
