On Thursday 3rd March the U13 girls rugby team travelled to Hampshire to take part in a 7 a side tournament.

Our reduced squad of 8 had a convincing win against Toynbee in the first game of the day (3-1). Our second game saw a 1-2 loss to Priestlands A but our third was another convincing win against Kings (3-0). Our final game of the first group games was testing and TIFs ended with 6 players who battled on to win 3-0!

After lunch and carrying injuries our team of just 6 played the eventual tournament winners Testbourne in a touch game ending in a 4-1 loss. The second game was a Priestlands A rematch, this was a testing game and the girls were extremely well disciplined and despite the reduced squad played some outstanding team rugby, they pushed hard for a win but Priestlands scored in the last play of the game after an amazing battle. The final game against Perrins, a strong ruby school saw determination and team work from our girls and biggest victory of the tournament a 7-0 win!

The team placed third overall just one place away qualification for the nationals.
Excellent performances, team spirit, and determination saw an amazing day with the school proud of our team and their growing reputation as a school to be reckoned with.
