On Wednesday 27th March TIFS hosted its second Futures Fair, which was a huge success! We had visitors from various Isle of Wight and mainland further education providers, as well as universities, the armed forces, uniformed services and island businesses. We even had some visiting members of TIFS Alumni!

Alongside other career related activities throughout the day, pupils were each given an hour to spend with the exhibitors, and were praised for being well prepared, engaged and polite. It was fantastic to see positive and meaningful conversations happening across the space. Pupils were able to find out more about apprenticeship opportunities, A-Levels and vocational courses, undergraduate degrees and university life, career opportunities in the forces and services, and the skills and attitudes that employers look for and value. Pupils were really enthusiastic about what they had learnt, and left with plenty of literature (and some goodies) to help with their future planning.

As ever, we are very grateful to everyone who gave their time to come and meet with our pupils and support them as they explore their future options. It was a really fantastic day, and we look forward to providing this experience for our current Year 9’s, next year.
