LORDS CRICKET GROUND, LONDON
Having won their County round (IOW) and their Regional round (South West England) the TIFS Year 8 girls travelled to play in the National finals hosted at the “Home of Cricket”, Lords, in north west London!

Out of nearly 900 schools across England and Wales, the top five (including TIFS) played in a round robin league to decide who would be National Champions. TIFS were the only State school in the illustrious group of five – but at no time did they look out of place and competed in every match.

Overall our team came fourth and all the players can be very proud of their individual and team performances on the day. Everybody contributed to a wonderful display of high- class cricket throughout the day in every match, whether it was with their batting, bowling or fielding.

As part of the day the team and parents also enjoyed a tour of the iconic cricket ground and were able to view the famous Long Room, Media Centre, Home changing rooms and balcony overlooking the pitch, which provided plenty of opportunities for photographs.

Many thanks to all the supportive parents who came to watch, Mr. Suter for driving and Mr Milton for his wonderful coaching. A fantastic day was had by all!
