The start of the Isle of Wight Music, Dance and Drama Festival.

Monday 29th February saw the start of this years Isle of Wight Music, Dance and Drama Festival.

The duologue class started off our festival journey this year with five pairs of Year 8 students performing a scene for two characters. Competition was tough as we found ourselves competing against older students performing examination pieces for their GCSE and A-Level courses.

Our students held their nerve with Ella Gregory and Millie Jackman placing a very respectable third with a mark of 87, gaining the pair a distinction. Medals were also awarded to Abbie Revert and Carrie Mowat in recognition for Abbie stepping into the competition at the eleventh hour.
All of the students gave confident and well rehearsed performances.

Mrs Steele said, “This was a tough class with stiff competition. Our students were excellent with their pieces standing confidently alongside those of students who were much older than them. I am very proud of all of them and thank you to all parents who came to support their children.”

Congratulations to all of them and we now look forward to the forthcoming music classes over the next two weeks.
