On Tuesday 28th April we were visited by the Cassia String Quartet, a group of four highly talented young musicians who graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music and have been winning prestigious awards for their quartet playing.

Tori and Amy on violin, Laurie on viola and Josh on the cello really inspired our string students to aim high as they played a mixture of Mozart, Guns and Roses (!) and folk.
The children were able to ask questions and chat to the quartet and we have now inspired a few students to take up the viola (a very rare breed of instrument!).

The quartet then gave a concert at St Catherine’s Church in the evening with a fantastic programme of Mozart, Bridge and Brahms.
