On Saturday, the U13’s boys hockey team and girls netball team headed for Lord Wandsworth College, near Basingstoke, to play in the annual spring invitational festival.

Despite the bright sun and blue skies, conditions were cold as the boys played four matches against various clubs and schools from Hampshire.

The boys’ had a successful day winning one match and drawing two. The team played some superb one touch hockey and learnt a lot about playing as a unit from their first outing this term. They now look forward to travelling to Southampton for the Hampshire Schools U13 Festival next week.

Despite having very little netball exposure, the U13 girls team made a fantastic contribution and were exceptional representatives of our school. The progress from the first game to the last was outstanding, with the girls developing their movement into space, pass selection and ability to apply defensive pressure.

Player of the tournament was Martha C and the most improved player was Demi-Lou H. We look forward to seeing their development grow in future games.
