TIFS Spring Concert – Thursday 31st March

A capacity audience enjoyed our exciting Spring Concert on Thursday 31st March. The 68 pupils that took part represented Years 7 to 11 and demonstrated the talent and commitment that exists in our school community.

The combined brass and jazz ensembles opened the concert with Queen’s ‘A Crazy Little Thing Called Love’, followed by the first performance of ‘Intergalactica’, composed by our very own Alfie G. Ellen C had us on the edge of our seats with her latest composition, ‘The Awakening Forest’. The Years 7 and 8 scholar band showed what great progress they’ve made with lively performances of ‘Libero’ and ‘Bem Vindo’. Solos and duets were of such a high standard and included a captivating performance of ‘Talking to the Moon’ by Ava C.

For the first time, the concert featured pieces written and read by members of the creative writing enrichment’ with themes ranging from the wonders of planet Earth to thoughts on what impossible things might occur in an alternative world.

There was fabulous harmony singing from the year 11 scholars and a driving performance of ‘Little Talks’ from Year 9. A thoroughly entertaining evening ended with an uplifting version of ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ from Year 10.

Well done everyone!
