On Monday 15th March we took twelve year 8 students to Southampton Rugby club where they took part in the Hampshire U13 rugby tournament.

The boys were placed in a difficult morning group, but despite this they started positively and went 1-0 up early against Priestlands. Unfortunately, Captain L.Hutchings had to come off the pitch with an injury which left us with 11 players. We went on to lose that game and the following game.

However, the boys finished the morning session well winning two games and losing two – with a real change in confidence in the latter two games. After Lunch the boys were placed into the third tier, a tier which proved no test for our boys’ talent.

They won all three games convincingly, 6-1, 5-0, 5-0. A true testament to our boys ability and determination as it shined throughout the day. All in all an excellent day out and a statement that TIFS rugby are not a team to be underestimated!
