Mr Wayne Bower
Lead Caretaker
Mr Bower was born in Newport, Isle of Wight, and, after growing up on the island, moved to the mainland, before moving back home in 2017. He gained City and Guilds qualifications in welding and plastering, and acquired a Class One HGV licence.
Technically-minded and multi-skilled, he has worked in various engineering-based roles, most recently as a field service engineer for the NHS Wheelchair Service.
Experience
Before moving back to the Isle of Wight, Mr Bower worked as a site manager for Primary and Secondary schools, as well as at a school for pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties, where, alongside his caretaking duties, he set up a music studio with a member of Dexy’s Midnight Runners.
A proud Caulkhead, Mr Bower enjoys walking and taking in the local views, and completed the Walk the Wight in May 2025, raising money for Mountbatten. In his spare time, Mr Bower also enjoys carp fishing and listening to live music. He has a love of American vehicles, having restored American custom cars, and enjoys riding his Harley Davison.
My Goals
To be an approachable and effective member of staff, and to become a real member of the school community. To continue to explore the UK in his motorhome, travelling with his family.
