Year 8 Activities Week
For activities week, pupils in year 8 made the tiring minibus journey to Cairngorm National Park in Scotland. After settling into their luxury lodges (complete with hot tubs!), the three teams enjoyed a variety of unique experiences in this beautiful part of the country, including a high speed RIB tour of lochs where they learnt about their ecosystem, dolphin watching and hiking. The entire group hiked to the top of Cairn Gorm mountain, making it to the viewing point at 3600 feet, to then enjoy a well-deserved leisurely train ride back down. Throughout the trip, they saw an abundance on native wildlife, such as harbour porpoises, reindeer, bottle-nosed dolphins, seabird colonies, and even visited Loch Ness in search of Nessie! To round of the trip, all groups came together to enjoy a BBQ and campfire in the beautifully sunny weather.
