On Tuesday 13th March 2024, 8 Rubeum visited the IOW College and Ryde Academy Sixth form, as part of their ongoing preparations for GCSE options.
In the morning, pupils were given a tour of the IOW College and looked at all of the different courses on offer, including vocational courses, T-levels and apprenticeships. Pupils particularly enjoyed seeing the hospital room set-up, the green screen room in Film, Media and TV, and meeting the birds and chickens in Animal Care.
In the afternoon, the group travelled to Ryde to visit the East Wight sixth Form where pupils met staff and pupils and discussed different career opportunities and the A-level courses on offer there. Pupils enjoyed working with sixth formers to complete a SACU test, and seeing all of their different suggested career paths.
The pupils of 8 Rubeum were engaged, polite and excellently behaved – fantastic representatives of TIFS.
