On Wednesday TIFS Year 7 boys rugby team joined secondary schools from across the island for an action packed afternoon of rugby.

In the first game TIFS started with a strong offensive game against the Bay. TIFS dominated the game from the off, playing hard against the try line, however the Bay’s defence stayed strong only conceding 2 tries to finish on a 2-0 win for TIFS. 

Going straight into their second match, Christ the King College played a strong offensive game from the starting whistle. TIFS fought back hard, with Christ the King staying strong throughout, for a hard won 3-0 win for TIFS. 

Into their third match TIFS came up equally hard matched against Medina College, with possession switching constantly between both teams. Max led the field with some powerful tackles clearing the way for Sam to make a blinding sprint for the try line, finishing on a 1-1 draw. 

Tired legs began to take their toll in their fourth match, conceding 2 early tries to Ryde Academy. TIFS fought hard to keep making ground however Ryde’s dominant and experienced pack proved too strong resulting in a 5-2 defeat.

Stand out performances were Ayaz in defence along with Sam M and Max L. Malachi and George got stuck in at every opportunity and Morgan B and Zac T showed their silky footwork.

All in all the lads had a great game and represented the school fantastically.
