Year 6 Transition Days – 12th and 13th July 2022.
Over the past two days, we have welcomed Year 6 for their transition days ahead of them joining us in September.
Tuesday saw pupils meeting their mentors for the first time before experiencing a range of activities from writing sessions in English, experiments in Science, and performing in Drama. Pupils then had the opportunity to play a range of musical instruments to help them secure their choice for their enrichment instrument. In the evening, pupils returned with their parents for their first mentor meeting. During the first transition day, Year 6 were set with the challenge to unlock our infamous treasure chest by solving a cryptic puzzle in order to find the combination code. By the end of lunch, the code had been cracked by Kalice who had been rewarded with a drone.
On Wednesday, we participated in a morning of PE activities which both the pupils and mentors really enjoyed. We also had special guests from ACM London Gospel Choir visiting the school for the day. The choir were outstanding, inspiring and encouraging with all pupils. Year 6 pupils learnt a number of different songs and were then joined by the Year 7 pupils after lunch so that they could come together and sing as our future Key Stage 3 pupils.
We would like to thank Year 6 for behaving impeccably over the past 2 days, and would also like to thank all the mentors and other members of teaching and support staff who were involved with the transition days.
We look forward to welcoming the 2022 Cohort Year in September!
