Year 10 Oxford University Visit

Our Year 10s have started to explore higher education options, and last week a group were lucky enough to visit Somerville College, at Oxford University. The visit started with a workshop on university education – why people might choose to do it, and why they might choose to study at Oxford University in particular. They were given a tour of the college by a third year Psychology student who knew all about the Isle of Wight, having grown up in Portsmouth and attended Portsmouth College. She was really knowledgeable and inspiring for our pupils.

After a delicious lunch in the very grand college canteen, pupils were given the opportunity to visit the university’s Natural History Museum, learning how objects can play a vital part in our learning and understanding.

It was a brilliant day, and the pupils, as ever, were exemplary in their behaviour and engagement.
