Last week, a group of pupils, staff and governors were lucky enough to attend the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on two days. The first group of Tennis Ambassadors had the opportunity to attend the iconic event for the Men’s Quarter Finals. Highlights included getting to meet Novak Djokovic, getting their tickets signed by him and watching Andy Murray play from Henman Hill.
The second group visited Wimbledon to watch the Women’s Semi Finals. They also watched Johanna Konta unfortunately lose to Venus Williams from Henman Hill, and were totally engrossed in the amazing atmosphere. The remainder of each day was spent watching some world class Doubles matches, and some of the best junior tennis players in the world. The sun shone on both days, but unfortunately our British tennis players didn’t shine quite enough to win this year. But there’s always next year and I’m sure we will be there to cheer them on again!
