TIFS invited Priory school over to Rew Valley for a friendly game. TIFS had agreed to put out two teams and provide both Goalkeepers to give the girls as much game time as possible. In the first match the TIFS team worked really hard to break down a resolute Priory defence. With some swift interplay and accurate passing the TIFS team eventually broke the deadlock and took the lead (1-0) but they had to be on their guard as Priory were creating their own chances, but it was TIFS who scored two quick goals and went into half-time 3-0 to the good. A quick re-shuffle at half time saw Priory score early in the second half before the TIFS girls secured a win with another goal to make it 4-1. The next match was highly competitive and end to end. Priory had created chances in the first game but were now making sure that they finished these chances and TIFS were on the back foot very quickly, having to defend. Two early goals saw Priory go 2-0 up and despite a valliant second half display, the game finished 3-0 to Priory. All the players in both matches were a credit to school and everyone should be very proud of the effort and determination they displayed in both games.

Under 15 Girls’ Indoor Hockey v Ryde School 21/11/23

In preparation for the South of England Schools Indoor Competition in early 2024, a training game was held this week at Rew Valley with pupils from TIFS and Ryde school. It was a chance for both teams to get to grips with their indoor skills and gain an understanding of the rules. In a highly entertaining and competitive afternoon both schools rotated their players to give them ample pitch time and experience in the Indoor game. Mr Milton commented: “A quality training session with some fantastic Indoor Hockey on show from both teams!”

We look forward to entertaining Ryde again and building on the success of this session.
