The Year 7 girls’ hockey team travelled to King Edward’s School in Southampton to play in a triangular fixture along with Farnborough Hill School.

In the first game, the girls played King Ed’s who were a strong and experienced team. The TIFS team played superbly well and were only 1-0 down at half-time. In the second half, TIFS went in search of the equaliser, but sadly ended up conceding a further 3 goals.

After a quick break, the second match started. This was an end-to-end game, with TIFS defending well but not being able to create many chances themselves. The second half saw Farnborough take the lead and despite TIFS having several more opportunities, they could not capitalise, leaving the final score at 0-2.

This was the team’s first set of matches and all of the girls played with enthusiasm and commitment, which puts them in a great place for future fixtures as they move towards Year 8.
