On Friday 9th June a group of TIFS singers took part in ‘Solent Shanty Sing’ at Ventnor Botanic Gardens. Around 800 local children took part, singing shanties specially composed for the event.

Before the schools sang they were entertained by local shanty group ‘The Brighstone Barnacles’. TIFS took the lead on the song ‘The Heritage Coast’, which made reference to beautiful places around the coast of the Isle of Wight. This featured a solo for Hecate C, who sang with such confidence to a large audience. Well done also to Bea M, Bea H, Martha E, Joe B and Casper H for representing TIFS so well.
