On Monday the 3rd July the girls U13 and U15 cricket teams travelled to King Edward VI school, Southampton to compete in the Southern Counties Regional Cricket Championships.

As Island champions for the third year in a row, our teams approached the competition with both confidence and maturity easily winning their respective opening matches on a windy and rainy day.

The under 13s went on to win all 5 of their matches and were crowned Southern Regional Champions for the second year in a row. This was the perfect finish to a season which also saw them win the U13 regional indoor championships and compete at Lords in the national cricket final earlier in the year.

After a strong first win the U15s continued to bowl and bat extremely well, losing only one game in a very tight tournament, which saw them claim the runners up medals.

Our congratulations to both teams who, once again, were excellent ambassadors for our school and our thanks to Mr Milton and Mr Boyd for accompanying the girls.
