Following our Speech Day Ceremonies, this afternoon saw our traditional Summer Show event take place at Rew Valley. As usual, we had such a wonderful array of entries in all of the categories (produce, baking, craft, photography). We are always overwhelmed by the effort and enthusiasm put into this by pupils, staff and family members and today was no exception.

The morning downpours in Ventnor meant that the usual picnic on the field couldn’t take place, but pupils were still able to access the food stalls we had arranged to be on site. We were disappointed that family members were unable to join us, but the children did get some time outside once the sun did appear – they were even treated to a musical performance by one of our pupil formed bands.

Mentors took their mentor groups over to Rew Valley at various times during the afternoon to view all the entries and to see who had placed in the 71 categories available.

At the end of the day, via TIFS Radio Show played throughout the school, the overall winners were announced as follows:

Most points in Baking – Polly R, year 7
Most points in KS3 Craft – Jessica G, year 7
Most points in KS4 Craft – Madison W, year 9
Most points in Photography – Kaiden M, year 9

Best in Show – Max W, year 8
Most points in Show – Emily B, year 10

Well done to everyone involved and for all the fantastic creativity and effort shown in the wonderful entries produced.
