Shipwrecked at Arreton

As part of our Maritime history enrichment pupils visited the Shipwreck museum at Arreton, to consolidate some of their learning from this term.

Pupils enjoyed looking at artefacts that have been found off the coast of the Isle of Wight and how these link to maritime communities. Pupils were also given an interesting talk about how divers gather such artefacts.

Ian Vallance, the Education Officer at the museum said:  “we were impressed with your pupils who visited us today at the Shipwreck Centre with Mr Wright. The pupils were well behaved, well informed, engaging and a real credit to your school.”

We would like to thank all the staff at the Shipwreck museum who were very helpful and passed on lots of their knowledge to our group. We look forward to taking more pupils there in future.
