Yesterday, the GCSE Drama classes travelled to Chichester to attend a matinee performance of “Running Wild” at the Festival Theatre. This was an adaptation of a Michael Morpurgo novel. Set in Indonesia, this production used life size puppets of elephants, orangutans and tigers along with highly creative use of set, lighting and sound to create the environment of the Indonesian jungle. This was an incredible show and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
“The performance was amazing! The puppets were so realistic and it will really help with our Drama course” -Megan T.
We will be using this experience to prepare pupils for the live theatre section of their GCSE written exam and we are looking forward to more theatre visits in the future.
