On Tuesday, fourteen year 7 boys travelled to Basingstoke to compete in the U12 Hampshire rugby tournament. Due to the boys’ exceptional performances in the Isle Of Wight league, they were picked to compete in the championship and played against some of the most established rugby schools in Hampshire.

This was an excellent opportunity and an extremely good learning process.
After lunch, the boys then played in the plate group comprised of upcoming talented rugby teams. They were fantastic in the afternoon session, playing some excellent rugby and ended up winning four games and losing just one.

The most exciting part of the afternoon session was the manner in which the boys won, passing the ball fantastically and dominantly winning with scores of 5-1, 4-0, 3-0 and finally 7-0 over island rivals Sandown Bay Academy.

These brilliant victories led to the boys winning the plate group on total tries scored with an impressive 19 tries; the second place team scored 11.
All in all a tremendous day, filled with great promise for our up and coming rugby team. Well done boys!
