On Friday 19th July, Georgie from The Paper Birds theatre company visited our school to work with our Year 10 GCSE Drama pupils on their devised exam pieces. The day was action packed and quite exhausting, but extremely useful and inspiring. Georgie had tailored the workshop completely to the pupils’ needs and to the individual stimuli of each group. Natasha L said: ‘It was so beneficial because it has made us realise all the different ways we can create scenes and some of the ones we’ve made today can be used in our final piece.’ Miss Allcock, who attended the all day workshop with the pupils, said: ‘The class acted like professional theatre-makers for the whole day, I was really impressed. They got stuck in and came up with some fantastic ideas and I can’t wait to see the finished product.’
