The Island Free School is delighted to announce that our Ofsted report has been released and is available to view and download.

The staff, governors, parents and pupils of The Island Free School are delighted to report that following a two day Ofsted inspection, the school has been graded good with many outstanding features. Inspectors were keen to highlight the outstanding ethos of the school, its pastoral care provision and the impeccable behaviour of its pupils.

Headmaster Steph Boyd and his leadership team were especially praised for their dedication to providing strong and effective leadership. This dedication has developed a strong teaching team who consistently deliver good teaching in this highly academic environment. Special attention was also given in the inspection report to the school’s innovative extra-curricular programme that provides a wealth of opportunity for pupils to develop as individuals.

Inspectors were particularly impressed with the support this highly oversubscribed school receives from parents, the vast majority of whom took the opportunity to share their pride in the ethos and values of the school via the Ofsted parent-view questionnaire.

Headmaster Steph Boyd said,” My team and I are delighted with the outcome of the inspection. Our vision has always been to create an outstanding school and, as inspectors have pointed out, we must now carry on the fantastic work we have done so far and deliver an outstanding set of GCSE results.”
