We are delighted to be able to share the outcomes of our Ofsted inspection in June 2023

This was an ungraded monitoring inspection following our previous full inspection, which graded the school as good with outstanding features.

The overall view of the Inspection team is that TIFS continues to be a good school. In feedback to Governors our lead inspector was keen to point out that, whilst her inspection was an ungraded monitoring inspection, the school continues to move toward outstanding and is now very close to a recommendation for the full section 5 inspection that is required for a change of overall grade.

Much of the report focussed on the very high standards we maintain and the inclusive nature of our school. The report goes to great lengths to underline how happy, safe and supported pupils are whilst also highlighting how aspirational every aspect of our school is in both design and delivery. We are confident the report accurately captures the essence of TIFS and that the hard work of staff has been given the praise deserved.

The inspection team felt that whilst the leadership and delivery of all subjects was at least good, some subjects were considered outstanding. It is our challenge over the next four years to share this practice amongst all subjects. They also felt that our expertise in working with the lowest ability readers (albeit a very small number of pupils) could be further improved. Plans to improve in these areas have already begun and will be the focus of our staff training week in September.

Central to the Inspection team’s findings were the thoughts of the large number of parents, pupils and staff who completed the Ofsted surveys. These were overwhelmingly positive and our thanks go to everyone who took the time to complete the surveys.
