Every year, the University of Southampton’s Mathematics department runs a code-breaking competition for secondary school pupils. There are a total of 9 challenges released over the Autumn term and pupils are able to work independently or in teams to decipher the codes.
The competition has thousands of schools enter each year with cash prizes, laptops and visits to Bletchley Park available to be won by the top teams each year.
Mr Quinlan would like to invite any pupils who are interested (either alone or in teams) to join the school’s code breaking Google Classroom using code “povy7ce”.
