Miss Michelle Petty

Assistant to Head of Year 11

Miss Petty grew up in South London and moved to the Island in 2024. Her interests include swimming, relaxing at the beach and taking her four-legged friend for long country walks.

Education

Miss Petty completed her A Levels in Art and design, Photography and English Literature and went on to complete a BA (hons) degree in Photography at the University of Kent. Miss Petty gained her PGCE and has taught Art and Photography in a Southampton school for three years before making the decision to move to the Island.

Experience

After completing her degree, Miss Petty worked alongside other professional photographers and as a college art technician, which sparked her desire and interest to work with young people in an educational setting. After 4 years as a secondary school Art teacher, Miss Petty has decided to focus on the pastoral side of working with young people, which is very rewarding to her.

My Goals

I would like to encourage pupils to reach their full potential by believing in their own abilities to achieve whatever they put their mind to.

My goal is also to learn how to play the Ukulele!
