TIFS entered 22 pupils into 34 different classes for music at The Isle of Wight Music, Dance and Drama Festival this year, with many others entering independently for Dance and Drama competitions too. There were also independent Music entries for pupils who have lessons outside of school.

Stand out performances from the first few days included:

Evie B – runner-up in the year 10 and under rock or pop song solo class with an incredible rendition of Burn by Ellie Goulding.

Ava C – achieved four first-place and four second-place finishes

She finished first in the Disney accompanied, musical theatre duet, carol and film/TV classes, achieving high marks between 89 and 94, and second place in the Song from the Show accompanied, musical theatre solo, girls/boys solo song, and jazz classes, scoring between 89 and 93.

Zzahra G – won the grade 4-5 violin solo class with 87 marks and the grade 4-5 woodwind solo class with a score of 88.

Jazz M – won her woodwind solo grade 6-7 class with a distinction.

Sophia P – placed joint first in the flute, clarinet, oboe and saxophone grade 2-3 at her first Music, Dance and Drama Festival.

Elizabeth W – awarded a distinction in the grade 8 and above class for flute, clarinet, oboe and saxophone.

Eliza W – placed 3rd in her 11 year ballet solo.

Many trophies were won by our pupils including 17 first place trophies just in Music. All competitors gained valuable experience through performing to an audience and a professional adjudicator. Everyone who took part is congratulated for their dedication and for being fantastic ambassadors for the arts at TIFS.
