On Tuesday, 40 pupils from Years 7 and 8 were chosen to represent TIFS at the Island Cross Country Finals at Christ The King College.
Despite the clear, sunny weather, our runners faced a very muddy terrain!
Everyone put in a fantastic amount of effort, and at the end of the afternoon, 9 TIFS runners qualified for the Hampshire Finals. Special congratulations go to Luke S and Bianka A in Year 7, and Jerry B and Eloise A in Year 8, all of whom finished in 4th place in their respective races. Overall, the Year 7 girls and Year 8 boys achieved 1st place against the other schools. The Year 8 girls were 2nd, and the Year 7 boys were 3rd.
Finally, it was wonderful to see our pupils cheering on both our own runners, and those competing from other schools – a fantastic example of good sportsmanship!
The Hampshire Finals will take place on March 7th.
