Inter-Schools Team Dressage competition

On Thursday, five of our riders represented TIFS at the annual Inter-Schools Team Dressage competition. This year’s competition was possibly the busiest since the competition began, with over 30 riders in each of the Prelim sections, meaning individual and team prizes were very hotly contested.

Annabelle was the first TIFS team rider of the day fielding a very impressive score of 76.54% securing her individual 2nd in her section, followed by Elspeth who performed a lovely, quiet and accurate test. In the second section of the day Cara maintained her previous strong form finishing with over 63%. In her first competition with her new ride Erica performed a relaxed and accurate test. Next up, Betsy showed skillful and determined riding with her young pony in their first competition together, although the pony was anxious to start with Betsy gently coached her through it. Another Year 10 pupil rode an elegant and expressive test showing great potential for this new horse and rider combination.

Miss Allman said;

“With many of our previous riders now taking their GCSE’s and moving on to the next steps of their education, it is a pleasure to see so many new horse and rider combinations representing TIFS in equestrian events for the first time, and this shows exciting potential for the future.”

Well done to all the pupils who took part.
