Last week, TIFS took the short trip across the Solent to Southampton to play in the Hampshire Hockey Under 14 Trophy. Despite traveling over in torrential rain, this had subsided by the start of play and the team were looking forward to their 6 pool matches.

It is always important in these tournaments not to lose the first game and so a 1-1 draw

with Bedales School was considered a decent start by all. This was then followed by five

incredible consecutive wins over Ballard School (3-1), St. Nicholas (2-1), Farnborough Hill (1-

0), Portsmouth High School (1-0), and Kings School (1-0). This fantastic series of victories

saw the TIFS girls undefeated and top of their Pool with a semi-final place assured.

The semi-final was played against KES Witley School and proved to be an end-to-end

thriller which KES edged 1-0. The TIFS team had to settle for a third and fourth play-off

versus Kings School. The two teams could not be divided and finished 0-0, so an equal third

place was decided upon.

The whole team played so well throughout the day and each player should be very happy

with their own performance.
