The Island Free School celebrated another sporting success on Tuesday when the U13 girls cricket team became Island cricket champions with a resounding victory against Christ the King at Newclose cricket ground.

The Free School elected to field first and skittled Christ the King out for a modest total of 42. After a shaky start to their innings it was left to Jessica M and Ella W to score the winning runs with 7 overs to spare.

It has been an incredibly successful first year for The Island Free School on the sporting front, where they have been crowned Island champions at Basketball, cross country, Boys five a side football, and now girls cricket champions. Added to this, the year 7 pupils won over half of the events at the Island athletics championships and the boys came 4th and the girls 3rd in their respective Hampshire rugby tournaments.
