The Island Free School year 7 young leaders were asked to umpire and run three primary schools cricket festivals during July, hosted in Ventnor, Ryde and Shanklin Cricket Club.

This was a fantastic opportunity to put into practice all they have learned this year. Stuart Chatfield from the Isle of Wight cricket board was extremely impressed with our student’s ability to organise and coach large groups of primary aged pupils.

This was an even more impressive feat, as these duties are normally carried out by year 9 and 10 students from the other High schools on the Island.
Congratulations to all of our young leaders for helping host such a wonderful series of events.
