Bath rugby trip

Despite the early start, and some questionable map reading, 40 of The Island Free School’s rugby players arrived in Bath on Saturday for a day full of premiership fun. The students started their day with a 2 hour training session delivered by coaches from Bath Rugby, working on their passing skills and learning a few new match tricks.

This was followed by a question and answer session from England tighthead prop, David Wilson. There were some brilliant questions asked, with the favourite being “who was the scariest team you have played against?” from Louis Hutchings, which was answered very quickly with “The All Blacks!!”
After a leisurely lunch and a stroll around the city centre, staff and students settled in their seats for the premiership clash against Northampton saints. Despite a 21-13 defeat for Bath Rugby, all students thoroughly enjoyed their day and have not stopped talking about it!

“It was a wonderful day out, with such a vibrant atmosphere! It was great to see all the children experience such a high standard of rugby” Lex Newnham
