Badminton Hampshire Championships

On Tuesday, our Year 9 girls travelled to Winchester to represent the Island in the Hampshire Badminton Championships. After an early start for all involved, the pupils seemed very excited and prepared for the day ahead. TIFS were placed in a group against 2 other mainland schools and soon got to work. The girls faced some very tough opposition and some of the badminton being played was of the highest standard. Jess, Polly, Mio, Emma and Phoebe gave it their all. In games where they were being outplayed they never let it affect their effort and did their very best, fighting for every point on offer. The girls were unlucky with some games but managed to come away with a hard fought win in one of their doubles games. Unfortunately it wasn’t our day on the court, being faced with some highly skilled opposition. However, Mr Hartup and Miss Hart were so proud of the effort that they all put in and never gave up.

Well done to all involved and the future looks bright to return again next year as a KS4 team.
